How long for baby to adapt to new routine?

Hi ladies

due to circumstances that are just far too long to go into I’ve had to move back home with my parents.

my DD is 10 months and is used to being pushed in the pram at home for a nap, I usually leave her in the living room with white noise on while I potter etc. She usually has 2 x 2 hours naps one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

however at my parents, as there’s a lot of talking and comings and going’s DD won’t sleep for more than around 30 mins at a time now in the pram.

i tried to switch to crib naps but as it’s not something she’s used to she’s still only getting 30 mins sometimes even less in the crib.

she’s then really over tired by bedtime and I’ve had to bring this forward to 6pm which is a killer as she’s now waking earlier in the mornings and throwing the routine off even more.

it’s sort of like she thinks she’s on holiday and here for a good time with her nan and grandad. I totally appreciate she’s a baby and doesn’t know she’s moved in for good and obviously she just needs to settle in properly and realise this is her home.

but does anyone know how long babies usually take to adjust to these types of things? I’ve done all I can to stick to her normal routine but I just feel so awful that she’s struggling with sleep and hardly getting any in the days now.

If you took her for a walk in the pram would she sleep for longer? That's what I had to do with my daughter. As soon as the wheels of the pram hit our road she woke. Once she was 18 months I could do a 45 minute walk and then get her back into the house and her stay asleep.
In terms of routine your probably looking at 1-4 weeks for things to improve depending on the difference between two routines and the baby

Can you walk her out and about in the pram?

In my experience, it took three days. If it hadn’t happened then, it wasn’t going to and we needed a new plan.
