Shoe for child broken leg

My DC (4) has a broken leg and a full leg cast, they have been managing to walk on cast and fracture clinic have said this is ok however I am looking for something to protect the bottom of the cast as I can already see it’s wearing away. I cannot seem to find anything for children? I can see adults Velcro sandal type things on Amazon but nothing for children, almost looking for a stretchy sock that has a hard sole but seems ghat doesn’t exist apart from for babies.

any recommendations? Anyone else been here?

Purchase cheap slipper boots, cut the boot from the top to the toe. Wrap round the cast and secure with safety pins

DS had pots, knee high, on both legs that he was ok to walk in (they were for tip toe walking) we got him him trainers that were three sizes to big
