Does changing teat size cause confusion?

Baby is 4.5 months, currently using MAM size 2 teats but thinking about size 3s in the hope it will encourage him to eat more at once. He's very fussy with bottle at the moment, possibly teething so wondering if more feeds less often will be less painful for him.

I have tried the bigger teat a few times, sometimes he's okay and sometimes chokes a bit. Im thinking the choking is when he's tired or distracted (or maybe he's just not ready?) I was wondering if using faster teats for daytime feeds and then slower for night feeds/early mornings would work, or if the constant swapping would just confuse him?

Any advice would be amazing.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry too much about teet size. My baby is 4 months and still uses size 0, she just doesn’t get on with the bigger ones! I asked health visitor if this was an issue and she basically said the right teet for your baby is just whichever one they will happily drink from x
