Yellow, bit seedy and not really sure if any mucus as photos I look at don’t really clearly show what mucus looks like.

He has been doing this since birth. Additionally he is very windy, always grunting and groaning trying to get it out especially during the night. Otherwise happy.

normal or potential intolerance?

My daughter was like this and it was due to multiple food allergies but I just thought it was normal for her. She had other symptoms such as being unsettled and it was only when her poos improved did I realise how much of a problem they were.
It might be worth a chat with your GP or HV about possible cmpa

Thank you. I’ve been wondering if it’s an intolerance so will cut dairy out my diet for next few weeks and monitor. What happened in your case? How did identify the problem foods and what did you do to sort it? Thanks

My son was like this. He ended up with a really red raw sore bottom from constantly going - it was awful, and really stubborn to heal. Doctors were not any help, all they suggested was that I try going dairy free. He eventually went less and less. Now 2.5 years old and no intolerances. Still don't know why he was like that.

She was 17 weeks when I went dairy and soya free by which point she was crying and unsettled for 16-20h a day and feeding for seconds at time. We saw a paediatrician for something else and he increased her reflux meds and suggested whilst it was unlikely to be allergies it was worth trialling a dairy free diet. Within a week I had a different baby although she was 15 months before we identified all 20 of her allergies and got her to symptom free. She's 4 now and still hasn't outgrown the allergies or reflux but she has a good life anyway

Thanks for that and sorry to hear it was such a long journey and that she still has some challenges with food etc. I’ve a serious peanut allergy myself and husband has hay fever so wouldn’t be surprised if some intolerance here. My LO is generally happy/not crying and no reflux it’s just the wind and nappies which on reflection I do think have mucus in them. Day 1 dairy free today so will see how it goes. Thanks again!

My 4 all pooed multiple times a day when breastfed, mostly after every feed. None has food allergies. Yellow is fine. Seedy is fine. Green and mucuosy may mean too much of the sugary fore milk and not enough of the fatty hind milk.

Is Kellymom.com still going? It was an incredibly useful well informed website about breastfeeding and cut through a load of myths for me, as a woman whose mother and mother in law had no "folk wisdom" to share as they bottle fed.

I see Kellymom is still going. Get yourself on there and have a good read. Here's some info about mucuosy poop.
