Can't remember what I did with my first now

I am just planning on leaving baby in sleepsuits for the 4th trimester as I think it will be easier

It probably depends how much laundry you want to/need to do, how often? As well as whether you get a particularly pukey or prone to nappy explosions baby. As a pack of five sleepsuits can be bought for £10 in Asda, probably better to overcater rather than under. Or start out with idk twenty and then if you need more you can just send someone to the shop or order online with next day delivery.

Not too many of any one size. My babies were all long and didn't fit newborn sleep suits so those all got handed on to the next pregnant friend, You can always get more once baby arrives. And remember how fast they grow!

We had a pack of Asda first size (6-9lb) and a pack of 0-3. Once she was here and clearly in first size we got another pack of the first size. My daughter was 6lb13 at birth and a lot of the tiny baby only went up to 7lb so for us Asda as the best for the early days.

I second starting small on "newborn" size as my long baby girl had to skip them for "up to 1 month" so they were wasted. You can always buy more when they're here

I brought 6 outfits to the hospital and still ran out of clean clothes for him before we went home. We were only in hospital about 30 hours Blush
He’s still in newborn with a little room to grow nearly a month later and he was 50th centile for weight and 75th for length so not tiny.
So based on that I would say get loads unless you really enjoy washing!
If you’re worried about wasting money if they don’t wear them there’s loads of bundles on vinted and fb marketplace and you can sell them on for the same price once you’re done with them

A hint if you have a long baby and he/she still fits the top of a sleepsuit but not the legs. Cut off the foot of the sleepsuit and put socks on the baby.

I would go for 14 of size 0-1 as I think that gives you enough for a few days without needing to do washing and also accounts for a couple of extra changes and I would probably stick with that for the bigger sizes. I would only get a minimal amount of newborn or buy second hand as baby may never fit, both of mine were too big (8lbs 5 & 8lbs 7). I had a feeling mine wouldn't fit newborn so I just bought a second hand bundle on Vinted and I had plenty just in case, good to have but they were never needed so I ended up passing them along.
