Do you love or hate the school holidays?

I love the time with DD (8) but I find it rather stressful balancing work and relying on family for child care. Also feel like I’m constantly cleaning up toys/colourings sticky finger marks and responding to ‘muuuuum.’ Even with going on holiday and multiple days out there’s a lot of time spent in the house either just the two of us or DD’s friends round to play which I’m not used to with us having very busy regimented routines during term time. How’s everyone else finding it? I’d say 60% love it 40% hate it.

Love them, but I'm a teacher!

I’m in a decent position of being a teacher so don’t need to juggle work. This is my first summer holiday as a mum and I must say it’s not quite got the same buzz about it!!

We love holidays but we don't have the amount of time off work asthe children have from school. It will never match.

Mine left school some 14 years ago, and left home over a decade ago, but I used to LOVE them being on school holidays. I worked 16 hours a week, and so had lots of time for them/with them. We had an amazing time in the school holidays, especially the summer ones!

I feel quite sad for some children, that their parents can't wait for them to get back to school. Makes me wonder why some people had children! Sad

I love them, but I don't work over the holidays and DD likes going to holiday activity camps. So we still have some structure and I have time to myself (though I have a toddler as well). She does regular weekend activities during term-time, so it's nice to have weekends free to do proper days out, although this year it's been a bit restricted with toddler potty training and some medical treatment.
