my baby is 6 weeks 4 days old and 2 days ago, my husband was sleeping with her on his chest on sofa, she slide off him & fell on the floor, we brought her straight to hospital they didn’t scan her but they looked at her and said she was fine, it’s been 48 hours since it happened and she has no bruises or bumps, she’s drinking as normal, sleeping as normal and still smiling in just extremely worried still incase there’s something underlying since they didn’t scan her :( looking some advice

Hey sorry this happened. She is fine and I'm sure if anything changes you'll get her checked out straight away. X

Ring 111 for reassurance unless they gave you a number on any paperwork they discharged you with.
I'm sure from now on you will always follow the safe sleep guidelines, please please don't let him do this again.

I’m sure your baby is fine. Most of us have dropped our baby on the floor at some point.

Your husband needs to stop sleeping with the baby on his chest though. It’s dangerous. You’re lucky that dropping on the floor is the worst that’s happened. He could suffocate the baby, he needs to stop doing this.

@Sameoldtiredmum

They will have checked her out thoroughly, they don't need to do a scan. You've been to the hospital you don't need to cal 111, they'll just send you back to A&E because they have to err on the side of caution when reading off their script.

There are very few babies that haven't slid down a sleeping parent, rolled off the bed/sofa/something or had their heads banged off a door frame. It's a right of passage.

please stop worrying. It's all ok.

Don't fall out with DH, it was an accident - accidents happen.

My husband usually doesn’t do this, it was the afternoon and he just sat down and dosed off I have him completely warned and I don’t want to keep going on at him because he is so upset this happened, honestly he’s terrified he’s afraid to lift or anything now. I called them yesterday and they told if she’s acting normal then she’s fine not to be worrying but I can’t help but worry

She will be fine. She has been checked over and has no symptoms and hasn't for 2 days. I can understand you are anxious but these things happen and babies are tougher than they look. And your dh shouldn't feel terrified to look after her - we all make mistakes
