It might be Hand, Foot and Mouth disease which both my 1 year old and 2 year old have, caught from nursery. Started with fever then spots on feet, legs and hands. It's nothing serious unless they have difficulty eating as it can cause sore throat. However, don't quote me on it as it's best to get advice from your doctor which I did and found out about this.

Do you have pets? If so have they got fleas?

Mumma1822 · 06/08/2024 19:47

@Okayornot no not got any pets

@mumoftwo0105 i did wonder but he’s had no temp at all, no lumps or bumps anywhere else or in his mouth. Getting induced on Friday so hopefully nothing too serious

My guess, if not hand foot and mouth, would be chicken pox, but very mild.

How old is he, does he seem okay other than the spots?

Mumma1822 · 06/08/2024 20:58

@frenchnoodle he's 19months. Completely fine in himself eating and drinking as usual really doesn’t seem under the weather at all

Insect bites?

Pityriasis?

MummySam2017 · 06/08/2024 21:07

In one picture, the spot does look like a chicken pox. With my kids, they got a few in the evening and by the morning the spots doubled and I could literally see more coming by the hour (very bad cases of CP). It may be a very mild case but as mentioned, best to get it checked out. Been around any kids over the past few weeks with chicken pox or hand, foot and mouth?

Mumma1822 · 06/08/2024 21:07

@Mummyofthewildones this is what I thought it was originally as we had been playing in the garden a fair bit but with it spreading I don’t think so now I noticed the first ones on Sunday the most recent one popped up this afternoon/evening

They look like bites to me, bit blistery but minor.

Mumma1822 · 06/08/2024 21:10

@MummySam2017 a the risk of sounding like a very boring family we’ve not been around any kids ill or otherwise for quite a while mostly just seen grandparents and great grandparents. Getting abit panicky as a newborn with HFM or CP doesn’t sound the safest

@Timeisnevertimeatall gosh i hope they are bug bites! Will have to keep fingers crossed and see what DR says

Don’t panic my lovely. If you’ve been around no kids, I’m sure it’s something mild, it may be that somethings irritated his skin. Best of luck with your induction hun xx

What did the doctor say?

Mumma1822 · 07/08/2024 22:01

Sorry completely forgot to reply, DS woke up with a diffrent rash on his tummy and chest this morning too. Dr said it’s a ‘viral rash’ and that he’s fighting something off. Wasn’t too concerned about the spots on his legs she didn’t think they were HFM or chicken pox. He’s completely fine in himself still so hopefully he’s back to normal soon.
