A few red blotches on face after formula ?

Just weaning off breast milk and gave my 9 month old baby some sips of formula today, He didn't like it much then had a few red blotches on his face? Is this an allergy?
Has anyone had this and what did you do?
I'm scared to let him try it again now 🤦🏽‍♀️

I wouldn’t necessarily assume it’s an allergy, no. I assume he’s had dairy before, and probably in greater quantities. There may be things like soya in there as well or other allergens, but these are also in lots of foods, so he has likely already been exposed to them. I would have a look at the ingredients and check if anything unusual, but mostly I would assume it’s just coincidence.

My eldest did have an allergic reaction to a food and it was her whole face swelling up in hives and projectile vomiting (she’s fine now, outgrew the allergy eventually).
