For the past few weeks my 4 year old has been getting on and off tummy pains. She does suffer from constipation which she takes movicol for. She still does her poos in a nappy as she refuses to use toilet and will withold making her constipation even worse.
I have run out of movicol and won't be able to get any today. Her stomach is really hurting her, is there anything I could give her to relieve the pain in her stomach? Would calpol help?

Calpol may help, I'd give it.

Fwiw my 4.5 yo used to have constipation and was on movicol for about 18 months but resolved now. He's been getting on and off tummy pains for the last few weeks too .. I think it's growing pains.

Ah that's interesting you say about growing pains as I only just noticed she seems to have grown out of 2 dresses that I only bought recently. She didn't do much growing at all from 3-4.

Don't know about medications, but I find that a bowl of tomato soup and a cheese toastie always sorts out my DD if she's constipated - think its a combination of the warmth of the liquid and the large volume, plus the fat from the cheese. Just always gets things going very predictably if she's constipated. I find high fibre foods just make the situation worse.
