AHH the bickering

My two young children just constantly bicker 🤯. They are 2 and 4 and will spend a good portion their day winding each other up or arguing, often around toys or "playing" together. My eldest starts school soon so hoping that will alleviate it a bit. Any tips of dealing with it in the meantime time?

Is there any way of separating them?

Over praise the good behaviour "wow (child 1) that was so nice that you shared your toy with (child 2) "you're playing so nicely together good job!"

If they are fighting over a certain toy, take it away until they're calm and explain why you've done that, give them certain times each to play with said toy

Give them their own space to play with toys separately

Set ground rules and keep to them

I had two, the same ages once. They're older now and still bicker but not as much luckily lol

I have two girls 8&10. They are horrendous. They are either thick as thieves or hate each other. It gets me down. We try to separate them at some point in the day to give them and us a break from each other

Mine are 11 and 7 and spend their days picking and bickering at each other. It never ends!

Mine are in their early 20s. They've got a really close relationship and would do anything for each other. And yet they still bicker.

I asked my DC how it would make them feel if they had to listen to me and DH talking to each other the way they talk.

When you lose your shit at them about the bickering, do they look at you like you are crazy and clearly the problem? If so I think that you, are me.

Echoing what everyone else has said.. 6 and 4 yo boys and they either fight or have so much fun.
We try to 'divide and conqur' as nuch as possible.. ill take one kid out to the park and my DP takes the other elsewhere. We reconvene after lunch and the time apart can help ease the fighting.

Mine are 15 and 9 and I could bash their heads together frequently. They are just so horrible to each other. I feel your pain.
