Preferring dad to mum - how long for though

I’m just curious to know about the length of time a toddler, 2yr old in this case, can prefer dad to mum. It started a week after I stopped breastfeeding my 2yr old girl. It’s now been 6 months.. is that the norm? I know it’s common. Will it be many more months I wonder? I love the relationship she has with my partner, her dad, so I don’t want them to lose that. It’s just her preference can be so strong at times, she physically pushes me away a lot or tells me to go away. Even when she’s very upset, hurt or it’s the middle of the night, she says she needs daddy.
I guess as it’s been a while now I wonder whether he’s just preferred by her as she gets to know us both more. Or, I’m wondering about the beginning. I had such a tough start with her, feeding wise and stress/anxiety, maybe this has impacted our relationship. Any thoughts welcome 🙏

Hmmm I think it was several months for us. I hated it, it was so sad. But she's 7 now and marginally prefers me. It changes so much OP. Hang in there. It felt never ending at the time and is a distant memory now.

My DD went through this phase and to be honest with you it lasted for ages, as in a few years! Sorry OP. The good news is that she's now a teen and we have a really good, close relationship.

I’m in this at the minute with my 17 month old, started a month ago as I was going through a missed miscarriage (ended up having surgery) and I was just so emotional I was scared it would rub off on her so Dad took over a lot of duties. In turn she now just wants her Dad for everything, hurt, playing, upset, bedtime, story time. She let me put her to bed last night for the first time in 5 weeks and I had to get my husband to leave the house and it was a fight.

It’s upsetting me so much!
