Bit gross but, um, teething nappies... what are they like?

DS is 8mo and has two bottom teeth (came through at 5mo but DS was not then weaned). Suspect top two are imminent as I can see two huge lumps in his gums.

Nappies for the past maybe week have been very different to normal - used to be 2 poos a day, now at least 4, looser, and, most importantly, much smellier. The smell varies from quite fishy to almost horsey, and today's have smelt quite sicky.

Is this normal? Or should I take him to the doctor? He's had a cough and been ever so slightly sick too.

yep sounds about right - ds's napppy smelt like dog shit this morning.... bleurghhhhhhh

I think it would be down to the teething too - also the cough won't help (esp if it is even a little bit chesty)

Of course if you are still worried take him to the docs for a check up - far better to have full peace of mind I think.

When teething, DS's nappys are more pooey, runnier, and smell of pork pie. Weird, but happens every time.

My son is 9mo and has been having explosive nappys - horrible. He is getting the two top teeth (i think).

DS hasn't even got any teeth yet, but his teeth have started shifting about in his gums, which is enough to make him screamy, dribbly and very pooey!

But there's rotavirus going around at the moment (at least there is where I live), so if you are worried, get a doc's opinion. IME they don't mind just reassuring us worried parents!
