A question about Minecraft

Hi all Minecraft is an absolute minefield to me!!

Is there a setting in which my DS6 can play, in which he sees the bad guys (creepers etc) but they don't actively kill him??

At the moment he plays on 'peaceful' and 'creative' mode.

He wants to see the baddies but not be really scared by them! If that's possible

Thanks

Apparently he can put it on easy mode and they won’t do as much damage. That is my child’s reply when I asked your question.

In Peaceful mode the hostile mobs won't spawn at all so he won't see them.

In Creative mode you get all the mobs including the hostile ones (the ones who will try to attack you) and they won't try to kill you even if you try to kill them to get them to drop items.

Yes, was about to say the same, that a Creative world will have all the mobs but they won't attack or defend themselves.

Yes - as others have said - Creative mode. Nothing will attack but the bad guys will spawn in dark areas/at night. He'll also have access to all the blocks straightaway.

Other settings you might want to consider are KeepInventory (see here...https://www.digminecraft.com/game_commands/keep_inventory.php for how to set it) where even if you die you don't lose your stuff. That can be quite good for if you get lost and want to go home because you can just kill yourself without worrying about losing everything.

Also some of the cave noises can be a bit scary for little ones even though they don't mean anything. In the audio options, turn down (or off) the Ambient/Environment volume

I've just seen that he is on creative mode already but he's claiming he never sees any of the bad guys.

The difficulty setting he's on is Peaceful so I guess I could put that up to easy?

@CheeseNPickle3 thank you, useful stuff

That might help, or even Normal, given that the mobs are harmless. Must admit I didn't realise that the difficulty modes still applied when the world is switched to Creative!
