8 year old gift ideas

Hi, it's my daughter's birthday a couple of days before Christmas and looking for gift ideas as I'm stumped this year (I know it's early but due to lots of factors I really need to get my shopping done by October this year so am already thinking about it).

She likes animals, anything cute and Kawaii, stationary etc. However she doesn't seem to play with her toys as much any more - still open to age appropriate toys but looking for other ideas too.

Would rather ideas for things you can actually wrap up as her extended family tend to get her days out etc.

Really looking to make this birthday special as we have her first baby sibling due just before as well and don't want her to feel forgotten.

What have your eight year old girls really loved?

Thank you in advance!! Xxx

My daughter has just turned 9. These are things that have gone down well over the last year or so

to fulfil the cute animal criterion - anything Squishmallow related
there is loads of Kawaii stationery on amazon

otherwise

CRAFTS
loom bands
clay beads
diamond art
friendship bracelet kit
make your own jewellery set

ARTS
knitting set
cross stitch kits
paints - my brother gave my daughter a really lovely portable wooden art set, with built in foldable easel and acrylics

LEGO
if she doesn’t like typical lego kits, the kits that build semi-realistic flowers are quite nice.

my daughter has a few Lego dots sets, that built cute boxes - this sort of thing

GAMES - does she like board games/strategy games?
genius square and genius star went down well last year.
the classic board games from my youth were also well received (e.g. mousetrap, battleship, mastermind, cluedo, pictionary) There’s a new one called Telestration, which is a cross between pictionary and Chinese whispers, which one set of friends and her always like to play.

Active things
LOLO ball - like a pogo ball. Received this birthday, and good fun
wobble board
archery set (with suckers not arrow heads)

does she enjoy reading? How about a book that goes with her main interest. My daughter also loved being given a book voucher and going and choosing a book and paying for it herself when she was 8

BIG THINGS (if needed and appropriate to her interests)
bike
trampoline
ninja line (Need two appropriately spaced trees)
football goal

she would also love a ballet barre and an airtrack
and then various dance related clothing

DD loved her Heeleys at that age.

Does she like to read?
