2 year old using the dummy more, not less

Our 2 year old only ever had a dummy at seep time, except as a young baby when she'd get really cross that sucking my boobs produced milk and all she wanted was to suck 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyway, the dummy ended up being a post boob settling device and, as I said, was only used at bedtime... But over the last two months she's increasingly asking for it through the day, seeking it out and only settling when she gets it.

Has anyone else experienced this? A new/increasing use of the dummy?

Btw, baby no.1 didn't have a dummy. I don't like dummies and I don't like seeing children with dummies. So it's not something I'd encourage, even as a baby.

Also I have a very high needs 5yo so taking the dummy away at the moment will not work for me, as then I'd have an even more difficult situation at home.

My 2 year old has been using hers more recently during the daytime too. I think it’s connected to her final molars moving around and starting to bother her - the dummy seems to provide some comfort during teething.
