Does DS have to self isolate with chicken pox?

I am obviously not allowing him to mix with other children.

But, is it unreasonable to take him to the supermarket with me or similar?

Very unreasonable. He has to isolate until all the spots crust over which is around 5 to 7 days.

Yes. He needs to stay in until they have scabbed over.

Yes.

I thought as much, thank you.

Single parent with nobody else nearby to help is all.

Yes, he could infect someone with a compromised immune system and kill them.

Please keep him home until ALL scabs have crusted over.

Online orders are your friend. I’m in a little town with a convenience sized Co-op and they deliver within 2 hours. If you can wait until tomorrow, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find a cheap slot with one of the bigger supermarkets.

Oh my! I understand your predicament but he needs to isolate.
