Teething hell

Please please share your remedies for helping a teething baby. My DS is 9 months and what I thought was hand, foot & mouth due to a few spots round his mouth and bottom + nappy rash (which he never gets) has actually turned out to be 5 teeth all cutting through at the same time. A few people have said their LO’s got similar symptoms all due to teeth? He got his first 2 quite a few months ago and other than getting through a dribble bib an hour, was pretty much fine. We’re now on day 4 and he’s in so much pain bless him.

Throughout the day he’s had 2 doses of calpol, 1 nurofen, 2 sachets of Ashton Palmers granules, the yellow nappy cream and infinite cuddles and he’s still just screaming in pain pretty consistently..you can tell it’s hurting him so much and he’s just looking at me wondering why I can’t help and holding me so tight 😩😩

Not sure if it makes any difference but the 2 he’s had for a while are the bottom front 2 (central incisor) he’s now cutting the bottom lateral incisor on the right hand side, plus both central incisors on the top AND both lateral incisors on the top. So front 4 teeth and the bottom one to the right.

I'd keep him topped up with the Ibruprofen. I've had a fair bit of dental surgery and was always told that Ibruprofen is much better for dental pain than paracetamol.

Have you tried a teething gel like Dentinox too?

And will he chew on things like a cool, clean wet flannel, a frozen Banana or some sticks of cucumber?

Anbesol liquid is amazing. You can buy it from the pharmacy. It's about £5. You just rub it on their gums. It's by far the best thing I've found x
