My 1 month old (born 6 weeks premature) who is formula fed has suffered from acid reflux the past 2 weeks (spitting up milk, arching back, sticking out her toungue etc).
Her pediatrician recommended changing to hydrolysed formula, we started that 48 hours ago and since then she has had 6 loose stools and spitting up/vomiting a lot.

I've spoken with the pediatrician tonight and she said it's unusual to react like this to hydrolysed formula and to go back to the original formula.

Has anyone elses newborn suffered like this and any other tips to help as it's horrible seeing her like this.

Nope it is not unusual to react to a hydrolysed formula that is why the amino acid formulas exist!
The hydrolysed formula still have dairy in so if you have a sensitive dairy allergy you will still react to the proteins in the formula

have they not suggested gaviscon/ranitidine/omeprazole for the reflux?

“loose” stools were normal will mine. Both bf but at that age they were liquid, not solid. The one that had reflux did vomit a lot but ranitidine and positioning helped.
