I’m a single father of two boys and their mother and I split when they was very young. We share joint custody and have 50/50 time with our children. I choice to focus on my kids and never remarried or even dated really since their mother so the boys and I have always been super close and cherished our time together. My oldest is now 9 and he’s been becoming more distant as the weeks go by. He used to talk to me daily while he was at his moms and always want me to play online games with him etc but now I don’t hear anything really at all from him. My younger son I still hear from him regularly. I understand that kids grow up and changes occur throughout childhood I am just curious if this is normal behavior especially since we have always had a very close bond? Of course I’ve asked him about it and he doesn’t really acknowledge that anything has changed at all. When we are together and he is staying with me he still acts the same and we act like we always did. I’ve noticed he has become more independent on many things and aspects.
