What do you do with LO clothes once outgrown?

I’d like to keep all LOs clothes but just wouldn’t have the space. Thinking of just keeping a few outfits per size as he grows older.

What do you all do? Could possible store then in loft of sell/donate them I suppose

I kept all the outfits I loved and had sentimental feelings about from his first year and had them made into a quilt. I love it and so does DS.

Everything else, I've sold on Vinted.

With his older clothes, I'm torn whether I'll have another blanket made or just sell them. Clothes are the one area I'm super sentimental about and there are so many t shirts I am really attached to.

Do you plan/hope to have another child? Do you have a loft or other place to store the clothes?

I always wanted two, so after DC1 I kept everything. When DC2 outgrows things, I pass on the best stuff to family (younger siblings having babies after me) and it's nice to see the clothes being reworn by my nieces and nephews. A few bits that are unworn, some even BNWT, I sell locally or on Vinted. Obviously the clothes with stains, holes etc just get chucked in the textile recycling bins at the supermarket. And some stuff - decent enough condition not to throw away but not nice enough to give to family - I give to charity.

It was very hard to let go of some of the precious newborn things and it helped that I was giving it to my sister... also some things I couldn't bring myself to part with originally, I have been ok with passing on a few more years down the line.

I did always get emotional about the children outgrowing their baby clothes - a bit less now they are older but it's always bittersweet when they grow alarmingly fast! <sniff>

Keeping everything from dc1 for dc2 to use. Then I'm storing dc2's old clothes with the plan to sell on Vinted, but too busy to organise it now so I'm waiting until she is in preschool.

Keep special outfits to pass down to DD's children. DD has some of my old clothes and it has been lovely.

Make a blanket/bear?

Sell good brands on Vinted

Give to friends

Charity shop - most ends up here!

Clothes recycling - anything too damaged/stained for charity shop.

Work friends. We all have kids a year above or below, boys and girls, our kids all wear each others stuff. We actually have pics of the kids all over the years in the same cute outfits lol.

Other
Stuff goes to charity.

Pass them on to family or friends. I didn't keep any clothes. I did take plenty of photos of DC in my favourite clothes though.

I split clothes into two categories. Those to be passed on to anyone and those to be kept for any future children or my sisters /bil children. We have clothes that used to be mine and my partners so they have been kept.
A lot of our clothes are already second hand.
Once we have finished the plan is to do a mass donation to baby bank or charity shop. Selling a few nicer stuff on eBay.
Currently expecting number 2 and anything out of season or too girly if I have a boy will be sorted and got rid of when sorting out each age group.
