LO barely cries however tonight he’s suddenly been crying inconsolably out of the blue. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Sounds like it could be colic?

What sort of time? At that age it could be the dreaded witching hour where they just cry for no apparent reason usually in the evening, dinner time ish. They do grow out of it!

Yes - trapped wind for my little boy. We had to do leg exercises which really helped and started using gripe water to avoid it happening .

It was during his witching hour but lasted a lot longer than usual.

I thought so too but he’s never showed symptoms of it before and it’s been 8 weeks etc

Check he hasn't got a hair wrapped around a finger or toe.

DD was really awfully upset as a baby once. We knew it definitely wasn't hunger as she'd had a full bottle little more than an hour before. Stripped her off, checked her over, took her temperature, ticked every box we could think of. Offered a bottle, knowing it definitely wasn't hunger and of course she polished off the lot. Turns out it definitely was hunger 🤣 sometimes it seems impossible to figure out why they're upset and other times it's the most obvious thing you're overlooking. Hope you managed to get your little one settled.

We had a phase line this with DD about 2-3 months. I put it down to being more aware of the world and getting overstimulated. Reducing stimulating activities in the late afternoon might have helped. I also found she stopped falling asleep naturally when tired at this age and I needed to start actively getting her to nap to avoid getting overtired.

Think you’re right. He definitely was over stimulated with lots of guests and also it was late (9/10pm ish) too
