DP has never put DS to bed.

DS is 2.3 yrs old, and my DP has never put him to bed. Ever. In the beginning, it was because he was breast fed and wouldn't settle without a feed. But I stopped BFing at 14 months.

Now, DS screams blue murder at bedtime if DP tries to put him down, not that DP ever offers, TBH. (DS still needs rocking/cuddling to sleep but that's another issue).

I don't quite know what to do, as I'd quite like, occasionally to not have to do bedtime routine. But am at a loss as to how to go about changing such a long held habit. DP gives up very easily at any resistance as well, I think (hope) because he feels rejected, rather than just because it suits him fine to leave it to me.

Should I just leave it be or do something about it?

Thanks, CBx

do you think it might help if you went out one night so your ds doesn't see you?

Go out!

DP will never do it if you're in the house. And if you get back and they're all in a heap on the sofa at midnight then never mind...at least you got to go out.
