i can't believe it. i will be graduating next year. the prices are -

£55 for your certificate and for 2 tickets to the cemomery

£35 for your gown hire

£55 to attend the graduation ball

£30 for 2 extra tickets to the cemomery

Apart from the graduation ball which I thought may be about a tenner I thought all this was free!!

What are other people paying or have paid?

I only had to pay for gown hire and photographs.

Blondilocks · 27/04/2008 19:24

Oh the student ball was before graduation and that was £30 but not directly related really.

beansontoast · 02/05/2008 15:53

i cant remember...but it was almost prohibitively expensive..what with travel there, drinks etc.

didnt go in the end! (but for different reasons)and dp trekked down to teh cathederal on his own and sold our tickets to recoup teh money

Kathyis6incheshigh · 02/05/2008 15:57

I don't think it's unreasonable to charge for gown hire or additional copies of the certificate, but charging for tickets to the ceremony and one certificate is well dodgy! What sort of university is this? (ie new or old?)

Tortington · 02/05/2008 15:58

just went to my photo - got my certificate in post - don't remember having to pay...standard gown and hat plonked on for photo
