What’s a reasonable time to put your baby to sleep my son is five months and his bed time is 7-7:30

Whatever works for you.
That will depend on if you WOTH, and what time you get home. What time your partner gets home. How well the baby sleeps at night. How they nap in the day. How much sleep they need.

I've had 3dc and they have all been different though none were ever asleep by 7pm.

Agree, whatever works for you. Does he wake in the night, how early does he wake in the morning? You need to be able to relax in the evening and get your sleep too (very important), if you can do that with a 7/7.30 bedtime then great. If not, try adjusting it to suit you and baby, not because someone else had told you it's right or wrong.

My five month old goes to sleep around 10 , Sometimes 11! I will try to get it earlier but at the moment, it works well, he sleeps through until 6ish for a feed and then back to sleep until 10 the next morning. I prefer to get stuff done in the morning whilst he sleeps, then if we’re out for the evening we can be out until late whilst he has a final little nap and then home to sleep x
