Ivermectin for headlice?

Has anyone been prescribed this for headlice? At my wits end with daughters hair, it's very thick and treating for headlice since March. She has additional needs and finds the combing so tedious.
Has anyone gone to GP and gotten anything stronger prescribed?
I have tried literally every product and every method including the traditional ones. Nothing is working, it's constant 😔

It sounds frustrating.
Although I expect it would probably do the job, I don't think they readily prescribe ivermectin in the UK.

Have you tried tea tree? In my teens my mum used to make up 2 drops of tea tree and 10 drops of neem oil mixed into a generous amount of conditioner left in for 15 minutes. 2 treatments was always enough, but we'd do a 3rd just in case.

You can get it for birds, it’s commonly used for mite treatment for them. I’ve never heard of it being used for headlice

I've never tried chemicals, you can eliminate them with just wet coming and conditioner. DD has thick hair and she had them when little it was hard and we had many tears but it is the most efficient way of eliminating them.

If your struggling to do it at home I believe there are places you can go who do the treatments.

The timing is quite important, miss one or two seasons are you'll be right back to square one. The problem with you having tried multiple chemical treatments is the lice become resistant to the chemicals so they then don't work.

It could also be the case she's getting reinfested make sure her hair is always tied up at school or nursery if you can this can really help you can get preventative tea tree sprays as well, I found those helpful.
