Have a 4mo and 3yo. On days when I have both, the 4mo barely gets to sleep = cranky baby. 3yo tantrums seem to go up a notch in quest for attention and just seems to have basic needs at all the wrong times - e.g. needing the loo just as baby is falling asleep on me, queue wake up… (absolutely not her fault I know). Throw in sleep deprivation and I’m at my wits end. Does it ever get easier? I dread the days I have the two of them and feel awful about it as I know I should be treasuring these days!!

Mine are now 4.5 and 18 months. I was you a year ago. It's easy now. We went to the park, school shoe shopping and cafe this morning. They played beautifully together - highlight both climbing in under the buggy for a cuddle and a cackle with each other. 18 month old fell asleep in the car on the way home, i carried him in in his car seat (he's a small one) and he stayed asleep. Me and 4.5 y/o played some games. It took her til the 7th game to win and we had no tantrums. Baby just woke up, 4 y/o has taken herself upstairs to do some drawing at her desk whilst I give the baby a breastfeed. Honestly I never thought we'd get here. He didn't nap without being held for a year and woke every hour overnight til 14 months. You got this. A bit of TV won't hurt 😜

Oh OP. I was you once. Actually I think I may even have started a similar thread.

I found it was manageable once the youngest was around 12-18 months, and mostly pretty good ever since she turned 3. Hang in there!

Ok I’m coming away with a bit of hope that it gets easier! Completely drained and heading for bed
