What's best for toddler in the pool?

Hi. We're off on holiday soon with our 2 year old and hoping people can recommend what they've found to be the best flotation aides for their toddlers? It was arm bands when I was a kid but have seen the vests now. Wondering if these are quite restrictive though and likely to annoy a very independent toddler? 😂

Arm bands are harder to move in than the swim vests. They hold the arms in a funny position.

Obviously supervised but we find a pool noodle the best

A long long time ago my DDs were in need of flotation aids.
We were fortunate we holidayed at family home with our own pool.
DD2 used to insist on belt and braces and wouldn't get in the pool without a flotation suit, swim fin, arm bands and a rubber ring 😂
But by far I much preferred the swimsuit with the flotation inserts

We use a pool noodle and always in arm's reach.
