Term time group lessons, what about holidays?

Hi,

DS age 5 just started term time only music lessons for Guitar. He's a quick learner and I'd like him to have the opportunity to do well. Also he likes to see rapid progress with things or he gets bored and loses interest. I've been teaching him piano briefly at home and been surprised how quickly he's learnt. However he does also get bored easily.

I'm wondering how are the group lessons and with it being term-time only what happened in the holidays?

We could request holiday lessons privately or just learming together but then I worry if he gets ahead of peers he might not want an individual class anyway as he likes doing things with his friends. However if he does nothing with it I think it would be a shame and he'd be out of the habit we got into with piano of almost daily practice.

What's your experience? Thanks
