You have to have an interview before a degree?

I so want to be a midwife, but fear I am too thick.

Smile, look approachable, dont blag, always mention 'adaptable to change' (good for nursing and midwifery).

Dont worry, they wont expect too much from you, I recently had my first job interview (I'm a 3rd yr nursing student) went armed with oodles of research done and all they asked me about was me!!!!

Fingers crossed 4 u, let us know how you get on

I bought some rescue remedy today as recommended on my other 'I'm really nervous thread' I hope that will help the physical symtoms I'm getting.

Well I think that it went okay. I garbled a bit at the beginning and got a really dry mouth and couldn't think what to say when she asked me how much I knew about the course. I wasn't really expecting that so I apologised and said I was really nervous. But they were nice about that. They seem pretty impressed with my qualifications and the fact I already have a degree . I had to do a little maths test which wasn't too bad and I also had to write a piece on why I want to become a midwife. I hope it is Okay. I think I will probably know in the next week or so.
Oh, and I also asked what I could do between now and starting the course if I am offered a place. She said I might want to do another higher (scottish qual) in something like psycology just to get my brain back in gear for studying.
Fingers crossed girls!
