How can I potty train?

So DS is 2.5. Had a slight speech delay but speech is getting there now we can make out what he’s saying and he’s saying words rather than babble and multiple words etc.

he’ll say poo and wee, so before he does one. When he doesn’t have a nappy on he gets upset at the prospect of going a poo or wee?

but will sit on the potty with a nappy on to do something and tell us he is!

He also enjoys flushing his poo from nappy down the toilet and says bye bye poo and we speak about how the poo’s go down the toilet and we flush them away (tip from our Hv)

hes showing signs but I feel like I need to just dedicate and actually train him rather than it be gradual? Any tips please!

we have a younger DS, 6 months old so I will probably try and get someone to babysit him For a bit while I try to focus fully on this

The Oh Crap method worked brilliantly for my twins at 2.5. I recommend the book.

I highly recommend Oh Crap, especially if you’re able to set aside some time to focus on it, as you’ve mentioned. It’s an easy and quite funny read and really useful step by step instructions. Her approach is that you can train from a certain age rather than waiting for signs of readiness.
