Whenever we go out and I let my 18 month old out of her pram like when we go to the park, whenever it’s time to get her back into her pram she will scream, stiffen up her body and refuse it took me 30 minutes today that ended up with us both having a breakdown! How do I tackle this situation? I can’t walk her because there’s too many busy roads and she doesn’t keep hold of my hand or walks the opposite way

I have the same issue. Generally I have to use a snack to get them back in the pushchair. So have a small packet of Raisins in my pocket or similar

Get her reins and let her walk until she's tired. Or time your outings so that by the time she's to go into the pushchair she's exhausted. My son would willingly go in the pushchair because he was wiped out and happy to sit and eat a banana or some crackers on the walk home. I also used to bring a magazine and he'd sit and "read" it in the pushchair like a little old man reading a newspaper. He liked to "read" any old nonsense. Didn't need to be an expensive kids magazine, just the local community paper was enough.

Similar strategies - we usually go to the park until nap time, so she's ready for the rest (although she repeatedly denies it!). Otherwise I bribe with a snack, let her hold a treasure from the park (a stick or leaf), or sometimes I let her walk with the reins (and hope she'll get tired and ask to sit after a while, which works about half the time).
