Newborn hearing?

Worried that the loud noise from TV watching the football and people shouting might’ve damaged my 6 week old newborn.

Am I being paranoid?

Yes

I suppose it depends how loud the shouting was.

Would it be worth mentioning to the HV? Paranoid thinking about it! Just was TV noise (which was okay) and then the occasional moan from people in room about how England was playing! Couple people shouting at TV etc

I'm a hearing screener, please don't worry, different if you were taking baby to a stadium or football match, but normal every day sounds like this are fine. Please look after yourself, you sound like a great mum, it's easy to worry about every little thing at this stage.

OP, I think what you need to talk to the HV about is your own mental health at this point.

Your baby is fine.

Is it not okay and natural not to be worried as a parent?

It is natural to be worried about our children, but I do think this is a bit OTT to be honest. Also - if you are not happy with baby being in a noisy environment then take her into another room.

It's neither natural nor healthy to be as worried as you are here about something as mundane as people shouting at the TV.
