2 week old very congested

My 2 week old has been very congested for the past 3 days or so. I have had a cough and cold myself so he must have picked it up from me, I feel awful!

His nose has been very stuffy so we have used saline spray with the frida mom snot sucker.

Is it safe to use a humidifier in the room with him?

also, his poos have been a bit mucusy today, yellow in colour. He also has what looks like a bit of nappy rash. I just feel awful! Could the mucus poos and nappy rash be related to being congested?

Thanks

If they are under the weather then poos tend to join in the grimness of being poorly.

If congested you could try the old trick of a little Vicks on their feet (you can put socks over).

Might be worth trying out different nappy creams for the nappy rash.

If you have a lovely Health Visitor or still under the Midwife - have a chat with them.

It's horrible when they aren't well.

Try metanium for the nappy rash (the yellow one). And yes they get more mucousy nappies with all the snot going down 🦠

Another thing to try is a plug in Calpol night time vaporiser thing - helps clear the nasal passages.
