I went through my 13 year olds phone, saw messages to his friend how he hates school and people dislike him because he is white (he's actually mixed race, but is fair skinned) - he goes to a school where it's predominantly Muslim around 90% even though the school is Church of England.
There were other messages about him being depressed and stuff that worries me - how the fuck do I tackle this? I NEED to say something to get him to open up, but I don't wanna break his trust, and if he doesn't feel he can be open because I'm gonna look on his phone - how will I know
I don't wanna break the trust as he thinks I don't check his phone, but as a parent I need to for his safety (I'm glad I do) when questioned before about school life and if his being picked on he flat out denied it.
