I've just seen a bunch of nits falling out of my hair 😬

Ohmyfuckinggodno!!

Is it the kind of job where you can pop out? I think I'd either go home as soon as possible and wfh the rest of the day if allowed and cover myself in nit killer, or if I couldnt leave, try and get a nit comb and aggressively go over my hair in the loo to hopefully reduce the chance of anyone else noticing them for the rest of the day.

CelesteCunningham · 26/06/2024 15:45

Oh no. 🙈 Is the day nearly over? Can you pick up supplies on the way home?

Lovely end of term time treat! Parenting is so joyful isn't it.

(My head is itching like crazy now, thanks for that!)

I would inform your manager, preferably by phone or text, and exit the building by the least trafficked option.

It's nits not Ebola.

I'm desk based so have been to the loo a few times to get rid of some of them but wil be heading out to get some lotion as soon as I finish. Not in close contact with other colleagues thankfully so won't spread.

They are literally dropping onto my desk, very strange as none of us have been itching at home up until now. It's quite fascinating in a gross way

Nits and eggs stick to the hair strands. Do you mean live lice??

Yellowflowers7 · 26/06/2024 16:53

Yes!

Oh you poor thing!!

AgnesX · 26/06/2024 16:56

I have to say I'd have conjured up a family emergency, made my excuses to leave early and hoofed it home via a chemist!

Good luck with clearing them.

SunMootStars · 26/06/2024 16:57

Nightmare! Can you leave early? I couldn't sit there knowing they are crawling on my head! Id have to run to nearest chemist to get the gear and run straight home!

Also scratching head reading this thread now! We had so many rounds of them earlier in the year- I'm paranoid now.

Yellowflowers7 · 26/06/2024 18:30

Home, £24 worse off, let the pain begin of washing and checking a house full of hair
