Prefolds seem to be a bit like marmite, you either love them or loathe them! Personally I used terry squares on mine as newborns, I had Mother-care ones to start with but have since discovered Popolini Luxury Terries and wouldn't choose anything else now. They are much nicer! Some people find that breastfed poo runs off prefolds a lot more than off terries, so you'll go through more wraps and possibly be more prone to leaks than if you had a nappy with a closer fit around the legs.

have a collection of terry squares and the prefolded pads. Used the pads when dd1 was older and poo more solid ( charming thought I Know) for dd2 ( almost 8 weeks ) muslin, flannelette or terry squares that I can fold and they are great.
