11 month old literally will not sit down

Just that really - is this normal?!
I literally cannot put her anywhere without her whinging within 2 minutes. I’ve tried everything - sat on the floor surrounded by toys in a safe space, in her highchair, in a bouncer, in a little baby seat we’ve got. Nothing will keep her happy for more than maybe 5 minutes max.
She isn’t crawling but is very close to walking and so basically just wants to walk (supported by me bending over breaking my back) 12 hours a day no exaggeration! Argh

It is normal, yeah. Congratulations, you are probably going to have a very independent daughter. Mine had me havin a breakdown in the middle of a housing estate at a similar age cos she just wouldn’t stop standing up in the damn buggy (she was very small, slim and there was no way of getting the straps so tight enough that she couldn’t wriggle out). I would say what about putting her in a baby walker just for the few weeks it’ll take to stop you losing your mind but I’m told they’re not recommended anymore. DD was so tiny despite being able to stand and crawl she couldn’t reach the floor in ours anyway. Eldest DS couldn’t support his huge bonce to crawl and scooted round in his like a tiny Dalek from about nine months, he didn’t seem damaged in any way and walked at 13 months. Either that or a jumperoo but movement and curiosity seem to be what’s driving your DD.

Yep I remember this phase. Started moving independently quite soon after.

Just solidarity here from me! My LO is 11 months to and good grief I am done in by the end of the day. From the moment his eyes open he absolutely will not sit still. He’s also completely lost interest in toys, 20 seconds playing with them if I’m lucky. He’s so frustrated trying to walk so has elected to just whinge and shout at me all day. It’s all a phase I guess but I am quite done with this one!

Both of mine have been like this at ~ 1 year old. Both haven’t crawled. It’s such an awful phase! Thank goodness DC2 walked independently at 11 months unlike DC1 who had me doing this until he was 16 months.
