I think my son has slightly weird ears? What's this called?

This honestly doesn't worry or bother me in anyway, but I still want to know if this is normal or a bit of an ear deformity? I don't really know how to describe this other than to say the ear lobe bit is kinda flappy? Like it folds up. It actually looks far worse in this picture than it really is. Any ideas? Is this common? Thanks!

Ear lobe shape is genetic, and lobes can be 'free' (like your DS) or 'attached' to the head/neck. Free lobes are more common, but maybe yours are the attached type and you can see more of a difference? I am sure DS is very handsome just the way he is! In Vietnam, lots of people get earlobe implants to make their ear lobes larger, which is apparently a symbol of wealth and good fortune.
