Tips to cope with overwhelm

I'm in a stressful job, working a lot of hours, with dc age 7 and 4 and a husband I'm really struggling with right now. I'm overwhelmed with it all and find myself snapping at the kids a lot which makes them behave badly which makes me and dh argue and the vicious circle begins again.
I can't see the wood for the trees but do know things need to change. Any tips on coping with the overwhelm to be able to make some positive changes? Can't work out where or how to start!

I feel you! Can you take some annual leave? I’m assuming at least one of your DC is in school, maybe the other in nursery? So perhaps if you book some time off work and keep your DC in school/nursery you can start to build a plan to get on top of things.

If possible I’d start making a list (as long as you need! - often it’s easier to process in your mind once you have it written down) in the evenings once your DC are in bed. Then when you take the time off you’re ready to get started. Sending positive vibes xx

Thanks so much for your reply, I feel better just for that. Unfortunately no chance of annual leave, I work in school so spend school holidays trying to juggle school work round both kids being off. But maybe I need to plan some holiday club time for them in the summer. It's a thought.
