Bike recommendations for tall DS (5)

Hello,

Apologies I wasn't sure whether to post here or in sporting.

I'm looking for bike recommendations for my DS, he will be 6 start of August.
He's quite tall with long legs (around 1.3m but this may have increased - had to measure for going to Disney 😄)

He's had a bike from Halfords, it was about 18inch in their measurements but the chain has now come off for the fourth time and each time is an absolute pain to sort out/pay for it done. The bike was really quite cheap as he's had no previous interests in it.

Now we're wanting to get a bike for his birthday but unsure what to get, want a good sturdy bike. He still uses stabilisers so this summer we're really trying to get him riding independently.

Do you have any recommendations please? 😁

Thank you

You want someting light, my children were riding peddle bikes around their 4 birthday. balance bike first, then took the peddles off their next bike let them ride it as a balance bike and then peddles back on, no stabilisers just a dressing gown cord around their waist held by adult slowly loosen the tension on it but you can rescue them if they fall.

I swear by islabikes but they have just stopped production. Try frog, their models are named by the inside leg measurement, place a book between their legs like they're riding it and measure from top if book to floor.

There's "pre-loved Islabikes" group on Facebook; I have bought and sold on there.
Nice sellers should give advice on their child's height/let your child try it out.
