How much should a 8 month baby eat?

Hi 🙂

I know this question is probably different for each baby but how much should a 8 month baby roughly eat?

Mine currently has 5 x 210ml formula bottles a day with the additional following at around lunch time....

30g of Ella's Kitchen Yogurt or Brekkie Pouch

40g of Ella's Kitchen savoury pouch meals like chicken roast dinner for example the 40g of Ella's Kitchen fruit purée.

Then a few Ella's Kitchen puffs throughout the day.

Since trying him on the thicker consistency Ella's Kitchen food purée meals like the chicken roast dinner the last week, he literally cries and screams when trying to feed it to him and gets himself in to a right state. He calms down slightly when of course giving him the fruit purée which of course is smooth & sweet.

Is it normal for babies to have such crying hissy fits when weening on to thicker textures? And any tricks to get them to stop crying when trying the new foods?

Have you tried giving normal food instead of or alongside purée?
Mine has just gone onto 3 meals a day, something like porridge, banana, toast with nut butter, corn cakes and cream cheese, cooked veg sticks. If it's on a spoon she will hold the spoon and put it in her mouth herself. Maybe let your baby explore a bit with something to feed herself and see how that goes.

I think he's drinking so much milk that he might not have much of an appetite.
