Worried about not being ready and starting school in September

DD is starting school in September (will only just be 4) and I'm getting increasingly worried that she will not be ready. Emotionally she is most certainly ready and I have no issues with that, but physically (ie going to toilet) it's a different matter.
We are back to the doctors today to see if there is anything actually wrong. She has been on laxatives for a few months which makes her go, but not in the right place . So far today we have been through 4 pairs of dirty pants. It seems like it is all 'overflow' but I'm wondering if it's because she is scared and so keeps just doing little bits. She just says she doesn't need to go and if I try taking her to the toilet she gets really upset
Does anyone have any advice for a increasing concerned and stressed mummy?!

Did she poo regularly when in nappies?

You do not have to start education legally until the term AFTER your childs 5th birthday.

That is if you choose to send them to school at all. You also have the right to home educate your child, so if he/she is not ready, bear it in mind.

Two of my children started straight in year 1, and i didnt feel they were ready as like yours, would not long have turned 4.

Home education is also an option that you can look at and maybe start school later on?

I home educate oneof mine and its great fun!

I couldn't home educate. It is not something I could consider for her as the school environment is good for her. She is more than ready for school even now as preschool is just not quite enough for her anymore.
The only issue is with her soiling.
She was never regular as such even in nappies. When we first potty trained her she picked it up really quickly and was dry but being clean has never quite come. She does wet sometimes, but we think that is when she is really constipated and so it is pushing down on her bladder. I do not really have an issue with that as such.
Really hoping the doctor will be able to help. The HV has given me lots of information about constipation which is helpful but not working!

thats good that she is ready for school emotionally.

I was just giving you some info that may help alleviate the stress that you must have her clean for sept, in that you can give yourself more time to sort out the problems she has at the moment.

Good luck at the docs x

Thank you all

Apparently it's all behavioural! So really going to make a concerted effort to do all the things he has said! Apparently it is really comment between 3 - 4 years!
