Teachers please can I have tips on teaching alphabet

My DD preschool have said it would be good for us to try to do more work on her letters, learning them but also writing them

What is the best way to do this please?

The don’t learn the letter names eg alphabet but learn sounds. Watch alphablocks on ceebies together.

Help her practice writing her name, but absolutely no need to teach phonics in preschool. Get her outside on a walk and play in some mud. Really there is no need.

If you are set on doing it, look and see what approach to phonics the school you’ll apply to uses. For example, Read Write Inc.

My little boy learned letters and sounds by watching 'it's circle time with miss Sarah sunshine' on YouTube.

Definitely don't teach her to write them yet. 3-4 year olds don't have the muscle or skeletal development to write.
Physically just practise strength, puzzles, playdough, duplo etc.

Reading wise, if she is ready, watch alphablocks to skill yourself up and then play fun games to learn the sounds (not letter names)

There's no rush and school don't expect children to know any phonics before starting school.
