Teething Medication

Please can you advice me on the best (and safest) medication for a teething 6 month old? I’ve been recommended Calpol ibuprofen but others have said not to give ibuprofen? So I’m confused 🙈

I used to give DD Nelson's teething granules. We were lucky that DD never had sustained pain with teething - it would just be a day or two here and there.

I'd try to avoid Ibuprofen as it's best given on a full stomach so I tried to wait until DD was eating solids before using it. Absolutely no harm in giving Calpol (paracetamol) to a baby in pain though as far as I'm aware.

Another vote for the teething powders - we used Boots own. Calpol if that didn't work.
The gels were useless - couldn't get them on the gum, or didn't stay there if you were lucky with the first attempt.
