How to refer to my DP’s ex?

My DH has a DC12 from a previous relationship and together we have DC4 who is going to Reception in September. DC4 really likes DC12’s mum and loves visiting their house and spending time with them.
On the forms we need to get signed for school we need to provide emergency contacts. We don’t have any family around and the most reliable person who could pick DC4 up in case of emergency when we’re not around is DC12’s mum. Now, how do I state the relationship on the form? Normally we refer to her by her name or as DC12’s mum. What term do you use?

  • Sibling’s mum
  • Dad’s ex ? (Cringe)
  • family friend
?

Of those three siblings mum or family friend. Assuming she is happy to be emergency contact of course

I'd say family friend Seems the most correct in terms of your childs relationship with the lady.

Family friend- that’s obviously what she is! How nice that you have such a good relationship with her.

If your step child was at the school too then I would probably say put something like “Kate Jones- mother of Harry Jones in Year 5” but as the sibling isn’t there then I wouldn’t mention them.
