wriggling off the mat

dd keeps flipping on to her front and wriggling away while i'm trying to change her. have tried dangling toys above the changing mat, which worked for a while, but she's rumbled me. any ideas?

You need to perfect your 'giving the cat a tablet' grip.

Also don't laugh when she is doing it, be matter-of-fact, this is just a stage remember the mantra 'this too shall pass'

My son is doing this as well. I have tried the toy thing, that delays the crawling off by about 5 seconds! I sit to the side of him and pin him down with my leg, and then battle!

He does scream, and most times I can't get his trousers back on, but do that later!

I had a very wriggly son and continued to use a cot top changing table till well beyond 2 yrs, as it was easier to keep him on the mat when it was higher up and more comfortable height for me to change him. Once he tired of looking at his cot mobile etc, I would give him the odd baby book to look at (particularly one of those where they can see their reflection in mirror)or a favourite toy to play with.
