any book recomendations for attachment parenting styles?is why love matters any good?

hi, just wondered if any of you have any reccomendations for any parenting books, i seem to go for the non routine, attatchment style of parenting. ive sort of read the sears book and i thought it was really good. just wondered if that book why love matters is anygood? is it anm attatchment type style? or do you recommend anything else?

ok thanks singing bear, ill take a look at amazon, maybe the title put me off, when it shouldn't of, i like the not leaving them to cry and bf on demand that type of thing.

I've read 'Why Love Matters', but not sure I would recommend it. It was interesting, but from a very scientific POV, rather than a parenting POV. I keep going back to Buddhism for Mothers (Sarah Napthali) and Everyday Blessings (Myla Kabat-Zinn and Jon Kabat-Zinn). Neither especially 'Buddhist', but both very special books. They have deeply influenced my approach to parenting.

Dr sears was useful for us

Why Love Matters is a very good book. I found it quite easy to read in a dipping in and out sort of way. Only trouble is that I got when DS was a year old already and it does dwell on the first year being the most important and I got a bit scared that maybe I had done loads of damage to DS without even realising. Got the Sears book as well, which I just found to be complete common sense. The ideas in there came very naturally to me.

I like Sears and I like his "Good Behaviour Book" for older ones

Unconditional Parenting good for any age

I like "The Unconditional Parent" too. I also really like Penelope Leach's books - I know she's rather gone out of fashion but I find her approach very warm, loving and child-centred.

I would definitely recommend reading Our Babies Ourselves as well. Not a parenting manual at all but very thought-provoking.
