I wouldn't panic about it tonight but worth a call to your HV or GP in the morning just to be on the safe side.

You should go to your GP, my baby had this (a little bit older than yours at the time) and GP did loads of checks which were really reassuring.
The blood continued a few days and stopped.
If baby is content, and not uncomfortable pooing then it’s likely unserious but please take them to be checked, you should ask for an appointment tomorrow first thing.

Agree with pp call GP in the morning and get LO checked out but I remember my DD having something like this and it was nothing.

My DS had this it was dreadful, turned out he had a severe dairy allergy and it was going through my milk. He also developed the most horrific nappy rash I've ever seen. 😢 it still makes me sad thinking about it now and he is a teenager. Keep an eye on him and trust your instincts.

How is your little one in himself? If hes not straining or upset im sure it will be nothing to worry about, but do get him checked out.

My little boy had blood in his nappy at two weeks old, it now turns out he has a severe allergy to milk, so now is on a prescribed formula, and it has helped him out massively. It may not be this of course for your baby. Mine was really fussy and grouchy and it took ages to work out what the issue was.

But I'd speak to your HV, go to your GP and get it checked out.

I would assume it's an irritated gut and go to the GP to have what other food allergy/intolerance he may have. If bf maybe get rid of any common allergens from your diet until you get an appointment.

My 8 week old daughter had blood in her nappy twice (and mucousy, loose stools) and it is suspected milk protein allergy. I am breastfeeding and I have been off dairy and soy for a week and the difference in her is amazing no more blood, improving nappies, "baby acne" (but more likely eczema) has cleared and her sleep is so much better she has slept for 6.5 hours in a row last night which is a first! Just generally so much happier in herself. I would definitely get him checked out by a gp and maybe have a read up on milk protein allergies to see if he has any other symptoms. Good luck, i know it can be very scary to see blood but most likely nothing serious and your gp will be able to help xx
