Sunlight in newborns eyes when driving?

Hi - was driving earlier when I noticed there was sunlight over my newborn (3 weeks). We had the hood down on the car seat and also have a car seat blind fitted.

I’m worried about the impact this could’ve had on his eyes/eyesight! I think he was sleeping (so eyes were closed) but worrying now

He's your first child, isn't he?

He'll be absolutely fine.

WoopsLiza · 08/06/2024 20:14

No problem OP, he's going to be fine

Yes, first child! Worried as I can’t tell if there’s any impact from it etc

I’m sure he’ll be fine. But we did buy special clip in sun shades for the windows of our model of car when our eldest was a baby. So there’s no judgment here.

There will be no impact to his eyesight at all. We've all been there with a first born, OP Smile. One of my favourite PFB admissions on here was someone who realised that their baby was not adhering to the one extra layer of clothing to you rule and rather than think that they were both a perfectly good temperature and appropriately dressed, she removed her coat! And so was cold all day but happy that the baby had one layer more than her!

I used to make sure if my baby had his coat on indoors I would keep mine on too so I’d get a warning if I was too hot that he was probably also too hot.

Did I have anxiety? Why yes I did 😀

When I brought my PFB home from hospital I was convinced she was going to suffocate. She would sleep with her hand over her mouth/nose so I would sit watching her all night and move her hand every time she did it 😆
